BEACH & BOARDWALK 16TH STREET - SHOW CENTER — Ocean City, Maryland
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will return to Ocean City, Maryland on June 17-18, 2017, to headline the 10th anniversary edition of the OC Air Show. For the latest updates on performer announcements for the 2017 OC Air Show follow our Facebook Page. A Blue Angels flight demonstration exhibits the skills possessed by all naval aviators. The Blue Angels’ C-130, affectionately known as Fat Albert, begins each demonstration by showcasing its maximum-performance capabilities during a ten-minute performance. Following Fat Albert’s performance the six Blue Angels F/A-18 Hornet’s will soar overhead, entering from behind the crowd and announcing themselves with the “sound of freedom!” You’ll see the graceful aerobatic maneuvers of the four-jet diamond formation, in concert with the fast-paced, high-performance maneuvers of two Solo pilots followed by the pinnacle of precision flying, when the solos join the diamond and perform in the six-jet Delta Formation. The mission of the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron is to showcase the pride and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country through flight demonstrations and community outreach. The Blue Angels are based at Forrest Sherman Field at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida. The squadron spends January through March training at Naval Air Facility El Centro, California for their winter training preparing for the show season. "The OC Air Show keeps getting bigger and better thanks to the support of the Town of Ocean City and the hundreds of thousands of spectators who come out to make it a success, some from as far away as New York, Ohio and the Carolinas” said Bryan Lilley, President of the OC Air Show. Formed in 2010 with a spirit of adventure that saw Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks shelve their equally successful solo careers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, a 12-piece tour-de-force, has quickly become the vanguard of modern roots music. Driven by Trucks, No.16 of the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time (Rolling Stone), and Tedeschi, blessed with a voice that passionately delivers a range of powerful R&B belters to gentle ballads, the group enlists dual drummers, two vocalists, a three-piece horn section, bass, and a multi-instrumentalist keyboard player for what is a greater-than-the-sum-of-its-parts collective. Tedeschi Trucks Band debuted big with its Grammy Award-winning “Revelator,” 2012’s dynamic live follow up, “Everybody’s Talkin’,” and 2013’s critically-acclaimed “Made Up Mind” bolstering the Jacksonville-based group’s growing reputation as the preeminent blues-rock leader. With guitarist Derek Trucks’ departure from The Allman Brothers Band, the band has fully dedicated itself to expanding its legendary live performances and released their third studio album, “Let Me Get By,” in January 2016. Fees/Admission: $45-$95 Tickets required for all patrons, including infants and toddlers. No re-entry allowed. Seats are provided in Assigned Seating sections. Acclaimed TV late night show host, admired stand-up comedian, best-selling children’s book author, much-in-demand corporate speaker, lovable TV and movie voice-over artist, pioneering car builder and mechanic, and philanthropist … it’s no wonder that Jay Leno is widely characterized as “the hardest working man in show business.” Jay Leno’s late night television ratings domination included more than two decades of “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” winning every consecutive quarter of his hosting over the past 19 years. After resuming hosting the 11:35 p.m. program following its one-time interruption, he made it once again the consistent and uninterrupted ratings leader for late night, once again leading all of the ensuing quarters handily, under the supervision throughout of executive producer Debbie Vickers. He has been honored by the Television Academy with an Emmy for “Outstanding Comedy, Variety or Music Series” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” has also taken home the trophy for “Favorite Late Night Show” in the annual TV Guide Awards determined by voting viewers, and he was recently installed in the Television Academy's Broadcast Hall of Fame. As if night-time dominance were not enough, Leno has also succeeded in the newest entertainment arena. “Jay Leno’s Garage” of which he is a producer as well as star. The NBC creation, which is viewed at Jaylenosgarage.com, has gained an international following on the internet, not to mention an Emmy Award and two additional nominations for Outstanding Special Class–Short-Format Nonfiction Programs. Leno, himself, is the recipient of the People’s Choice Award and other honors, including the Harris Poll selection as most popular star on television. Other personal highlights include his induction into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Broadcasting Hall of Fame, his upcoming reception of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts’ Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, the Hasty Pudding Award at Harvard University, an honorary doctorate from his alma mater, Emerson College and an invited to have his papers installed in the Library of Congress. He also received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame and has set several land speed records and became the first person to drive the pace car of all major NASCAR events. An indefatigable performer, Leno loves to test his humor live on audiences across the nation, performing over 100 live appearances in nightclubs, theaters and stadiums each year, including during his long Tonight Show hosting. He has been touted as one of the nicest people in show business and the hardest-working — a winning tandem for the man who says “Anyone can have a life - careers are hard to come by!” Fees/Admission: $55-$100 Assigned seating events require tickets for all patrons, including infants and toddlers. No re-entry allowed. Seats are provided.
